Today everything is in the cloud. Only a few years back, that was not the case.
In 1997, when we started Cumulus Information Systems, cloud concepts were in their infancy. It was a poineering effort to bring call center technologies to the cloud. There were a handful of us in the 'space race' to get to the cloud, but in those early days, it was a select few.

We had spent the previous 5 years perfecting call center technology for the closet (premise based call center technology). One day, while sitting in on a technology demonstration for the future of phone systems, the idea hit us. What if we took the same software, added the concept of multi-tenancy (more that one simultaneous customer), and stuck it in the cloud. This was the beginning (at least for us) of a revolution.
